Truck won't start?

I bought a 2010 from the dealer exactly one month ago yesterday, 3 weeks after getting it I notice that it's starting to struggle to start, I got the battery tested and alternator tested, both are fine. Couple days later it completely won't turn over, seems the battery is dead. I can jump it and get it to start, then it will start after that but the battery is either getting drained while the truck is off or something else is wrong. I'm thinking either the battery is shot even though it tested okay, or something else is wrong and keeps draining the battery. Guys who tested my stuff thought it was the starter but I don't think so. I'm hoping to try whatever I can before I contact the dealer or buy a new battery. I have an extended warranty through the dealer.

 

The only thing I have done since getting the truck it the aux fix where you solder two points together to get it to work again so I thought that could have been somehow draining the battery but I pulled out the entire plug several days ago and the battery is still draining.

 

Why are you not using the warranty you paid for?
I would think if you were have trouble less than 1 month from purchase you would take it directly to the dealer.
Battery is probably bad by now. I agree it sounds like you have a drain somewhere. Get a meter out and start unplugging things. Find the drain before you ruin a new battery.

 

The dealer is 6 hours away, so I'm trying to figure it out before having to resort to them. I was hoping it would be easy to diagnose. They will only cover the problem but not the time they spend to figure out what it is.

 

Intermittent electrical are the hardest to diagnose! Although this does not sound intermittent.
And I believe warrantees cover parts and labor! That includes diagnosing the problem! They sold you a truck now they want to be done with it.

 

Get a new battery and be done with it...

 

@Forster46 , are you manual transmission by chance? It could be the clutch start switch. Mine has been intermittent lately. If I use the clutch start cancel button, the truck fires immediately every time. If you're auto, I'm of no service.
