I had my TWSS give me a Uniden PRO 520XL cb radio for my 4runner build.

    Thanks bud @adanfon

The thing with these cb radios is that they fit PERFECTLY in the ashtray location on the 3rd gen 4runners.

Give you a clean, stockish look:

To be able to achieve this, I remove the radio/ac bezel on the 4runner:

I pulled the ashtray out and remove these two screws:

    Test fitting the CB radio:

Trimmed the end brackets off with a dremmel tool and test fitted again:

Used two strips of velcro between the plastic prongs and the top of the radio.

This holds the CB radio in place:

    Connected my PL59 connector:

Dont forget to order pizza. If you dont, this MOD will NOT WORK:

    Looks like Arizona is winning:

So now I proceed to run the coaxial wiring for the cb radio. I purchased this mount from a member on T4R.org. The mount installs in the back hatch:

Picked up the firering coaxial cable, the 18 feet version:

I ran the coaxial cable from the front of the 4runner towards the back:

Under the carpet on the driver's side:

Under the door floor plastic panel front and rear:

I then removed the plastic paneling in the rear driver's side area by the seat:

Removed the driver's side back cargo paneling:

Ran it thru this yellow vent thing:

    Here it is!

I then hid it from view by running it behind the bumper:

Made sure to install the cable like this:

Having gone 250k, Aug 2016 was the time to replace the original clutch & get the driver's seat rebuilt/stuffed. Front & back Weathertech liners. Tundra front disc brake swap. Full length Rocky Mountain Rack with 40" lightbar & alternating strobe rear dust lights. I used a warm weekend in March 2022 to finally install my brand new, from old stock, 2000 4Runner driver's seat. $800 directly from the factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
My in-cab install was exactly the same, same CB. at least it's only a pain in the ass once. It holds together surprisingly well in subsequent center console dismantle & refits.

Nope, no build thread. I had a mechanical engineer design & fab a custom rack with wind fairing that bolts on to the existing 10 OEM roof rack slide nuts with 1" clearance. What passes for my build thread is the up to date description in my profile.

No, I meant how do you set the RTT up there?

Crane? Drop it down from the roof?

The engineer & I just lifted the tent & rack from either side & lifted it up there. It worked out to 80# each, so it wasn't easy but it was only a minute or so from table to roof. What I need is the dash plate you used for the switch panel under your stereo.
