A whole lot more rain fell, but no hail either. The mosquitos are going to be bigger than hawks this year

QFT. I had one fly up, point to my son, and ask "you gonna eat that?"

They're carrying Frank's Red Hot everywhere they go.

I saw bat say "naw man, I'm full."

    Gonna be bad.

My dad is coming out to visit from CA in a couple weeks. He hates wearing bug spray, and asked if we have a citronella candle. I just laughed.

    Yes.
Driving down Hwy 71, I saw at least two steel buildings missing most of their roof. (one storage place across from the airport.) and a barn further east. The firework place also appears to have sustained some wind damage. We have a lot of small dead branches down in the yard, none of them are terribly large though and no significant damage to anything that we've found.

Non-Tacoma related: my grandfather's old truck is headed my way in a few weeks. The 350 in it needs love, possibly a full rebuild. Can any of you guys recommend a reputable Shop that won't rape me on cost?

Good luck finding a shop that will actually rebuild it. The last time I looked around for a shop they all wanted to drop in a Jasper motor or a blank check to build a race motor.

Once it gets here, I'm going to do a compression test and see where I'm at. There are a ton of 350s for sale locally. I may just buy one.

for places you can walk in and pick it up try a truck stop, should be one on any of the major interstates headed out of town. Or Amazon 2 day shipping.

Amazon it is then. Do you happen to have a SWR to tune it with?

No, but there is probably someone up near you that has one, I met up with @MatthewMay1 and used his. Or you could get your own, they are reasonably cheap.

I have an SWR meter. Depending on where you are located, there's a truck stop in Garland that has a guy who can do it for you

And unrelated to that... I need to decide if I want to convert my Avid "sliders" that are really bolt on steps into real welded sliders, or sell them and buy something different.

I'd love some of the older BAMF style with the fill plates.

DCSB, with kick out, and Line-X'd.
