I was able to find out what it would cost from Toyota Parts to buy the OEM hood with scoop!

I may be wrong but is this below all they add to a regular hood and if so count you just have it painted to your color and just add it to your non-scoop hood to make it a scooped hood!

That's for collision/damage purposes. The hoods are stamped differently. The diagram you have is of all the pieces in a sport hood

That's actually the diagram for a 2015 hood and some of the parts information is wrong because they would have used the incorrect PNC's, so the diagram is wrong and the parts list is a mix of 2015 and 2016 parts.

You would likely also want to get the correct replacement stickers/labels and any stick-on hole covers or protectors that were not reusable from your old hood.

I wonder the cost of getting the hood painted?

If you can find a shop willing to do the hood without blending it into the fenders and bumper, it's usually around $300+. If not, closer to 1K.

I have hoods painted in the past and its a gamble w/o blending and it depends mostly on the color of the truck/car. Metallics and pearl colors are harder and show more if its not a match, blending helps with that. That's why I bought the TRD Sport. I knew realistically getting a sport hood for an OR would probably be >$1000 to do completely. The hood swap threads are also like 10:1 OR hoods.

I was just wondering what the dealer charges to paint it....I'm sure sooner or later they'll get a blue truck that needs to be painted and maybe get it painted then...

From my understanding most dealerships don't paint in house, they outsource the work to other vendors or preferred partners

Mmmm.....I didn't know that....I usually get a pretty decent discount from the parts guys at my local dealer....Not sure about discounted paint though.

Let us know if you get a quote directly from the dealership for painting the hood as I don't think Toyota is in the business of bodywork (at least in our region)

This. Dealers contract with bodyshops. At least in my experience.

Quite a few dealers do have their own body shops, though I would say it is more common for them to sublet work to an affiliated body shop.

Either way the work being done is likely to be of similar quality.

    Scooped Hood Price 002.jpg

OK.....I can buy the OEM 2016 TRD Sport scooped hood and all the parts from my local dealer for $514.05 plus tax...(and paint)

They don't do body work anymore and the shop they use just down the road was closed for the day so I don't know the price of getting it painted yet.

    Edit: $400-600 to paint...see below

Well I stopped by the body shop that does my local Toyota's work to see about getting a scooped TRD Sport hood painted Blazing Blue Pearl.

Interesting, He looked up the color code T80 and there are 3 variations of that blue. Regular, more green and (darker) more green. Don't ask to explain what those colors are.

Bottom line is he said $400 to paint the hood and if it turns out that it's the right shade then good. Otherwise it's $100 more for each fender to blend it in for a total of $400-600....Plus about $600 for the hood itself from Toyota.

from all the parts and part #'s in the photos above what parts are re-usable from the trd off road non scooped hood.

i'm just trying to add to shopping cart all the correct part numbers to see how much it would cost from this site:

    https://www.trdshop.com/auto-parts/...d-and-components-scat/?part_number=5330104230

obviously i don't need everything but not everyone's info above matches an i'm trying to figure out who is correct.

then i will compare to my local dealerships.

I think you'll find my post to be the most accurate and everything you need except the stickers.

The other posts are either missing parts or have wrong parts on them, including Kilokato's, which has 76185-35030 which is for 2015 models but is missing 76182-04010.
