I guess I'm a "woosie"...my "truck" gun is a Ruger LCR .38. It is light and has plenty of punch (38+P) but only holds 5 rounds. If that doesn't do the trick I'm SOL anyway (that is after throwing the gun at whatever/whomever is the problem). Getting the same model for my wife's car but in .22 cal. My other handguns (home safe) are an XD .40, Ruger stainless .38, Ruger stainless .357, Ruger SR9 .9m, and 2 Ruger 22/45's (my fun guns). Plus DMPS AR .223 and S&W M&P AR-22, Mossberg home defense .12 gauge, and Ruger 10/22. I guess I'm just a Ruger fan. Had a Glock 17C but hated it and sold it. I know the Glock fans will dump on me for this!

Addendum: Forgot to add I also have a Ruger LCP .38 for my "late night" walking the neighborhood pocket gun. In AL you have to be licensed to carry and if you are caught w/out one...good bye to the guns in your car or the one you are carrying.

FN PS90.....50 rnd. mags......same gun used by Secret Service.....some carry the full auto, SBR version.
Light, fast, easy to shoot from within a confined space, i.e. truck cab....even one handed. Easy to stay on target....next to nothing kick. Looks weird and uncomfortable......but one of the best ergonomically guns to shoot. Don't leave home without it.

You should try a Glock 43 or Kahr CM9. Here's the Glock.

Looks like a nice little gun. I haven't shot one so I don't have any personal experience with it. I only mentioned the Glock 43 because it's a great little concealed carry 9mm. Might change his mind about Glocks.

Glock 19 or 26. Depends on the weather and what I'm wearing that day.

When it comes to handguns....it's always what fits best in your hands/best what you shoot with.....kinda thang.
    For a CC, I had a Ruger LC9, slim little gun, 8 rounds (7+1).
Added a Hogue rubber grip to it to help out with gripping the thing....and a laser (I train iron sights prime, laser sight as laser tag, no sighting).
A few things I didn't like about it.
Double action trigger pull, first pull 6+ lbs., second and beyond is just a long pull....terrible for accuracy, even with a vise grip on it, even with lots of range time, hard to hold on to, accuracy past 10 ft. BAD....just uncomfortable to shoot, period.
What I did switch to earlier this year is just an amazing CC....accurate as heck, amazing grip and one of those natural, self pointer kinda guns, the Walther CCP, (8+1).
Small enough to CC easily, one of the best ergonomic grips for a 9mm out there.
Because of a gas blow by system in the barrel, less muzzle rise when firing a round equals better accuracy by easier to stay on target, not to mention the grip on the thing!
Great for women to since because of the blow by gas system they greatly reduced the strength of the spring which then allows racking a round easily half the effort.
I have 3 now....that's how much I like this little beauty.
"The CCP’s SOFTCOIL™ gas-delayed blowback system uses gas pressure from the ignited cartridge by directing it through a small port in the barrel in front of the chamber to slow down and delay the rearward motion of the slide. This is accomplished by means of a piston contained inside of a cylinder located under the barrel that opposes the rearward motion of the slide until the gas pressure has declined after the bullet has left the barrel. This allows the slide to end its rearward motion, opening the breech, and ejecting the empty cartridge case."
