They have lots of plants still open in the US. Even just the F150 gets built in two plants in the US - Kansas City and Dearborn.

Good to know, he must have been referring to his plant making a specific vehicle.

    Well, here it is,

Not a Ford, but my new purchase which I mentioned in a previous post. Love it so far! Finding excuses just to go for a drive. Logged a thousand km's in the first 5 days. No trouble adjusting to a full size. Don't even give it a thought now that I'm over a week into ownership.

Thanks guys. I'm really enjoying it. The ZF 8 speed is so smooth and always seems to be in the right gear. Don't miss shifting my own gears at all.

I feel exactly the same way about the 8 spd. That was my biggest worry going from my manual trans, but 5 weeks in now and absolutely no regrets.

Subbed... I am very close (~3 mos) from actually buying a new truck I think. The F150 or the Tundra are pretty much the only candidates at this point with heavy emphasis on the Ford. My dad has a '15 Platinum and I absolutely love the truck. Hopefully I can play the domestics game and get like 10k off of the sticker which should get me decently close to my budget for the truck I want. I just really wish I could find a Lariat with all of the nice interior features (heated/cooled seats, dual panel moonroof, etc), but with a low key exterior since I always change those things out anyway.

Just a thought, it's much easier to build your own F150 than it is a Tacoma - dealers do it all the time. I ordered mine exactly how I wanted it and got $500 under invoice plus all applicable rebates at the time of delivery, came out to about $8000 off sticker (and this was when they were only out for 3 months). Might look into that? And every Lariat should come with heated/cooled seats, although the cooled function is pretty universally considered useless since they changed the design in the 2015.

If you stay off the boost you can easily get over 20 mpg, this was driving like a pig.

    Interior is nice too

You must not live where it's hot. That's probably the best feature IMO.

That's not what I meant, I use them all the time and it was a must-have feature for me. But they changed the design in the 2015 and it's not nearly as good as the previous gen seats. The single largest thread in the 2015 F150 forum I'm on is probably the cooled seat thread and how poorly they perform. It was bad enough that Ford redesigned it, issued a TSB, and they still don't work great. The main issue is that the seat backs don't cool like they're supposed to and the back of the seat gets hot (120+ degrees). The TSB fixed the seat getting hot, but the seat back cooling is still nonexistent (seat bottoms cool great). But yes, it's a great feature in the summer w/ leather seats.

Misunderstanding then. I haven't noticed the back of the seat getting hot but I will check it out.

Judging from your pics you have a 2013/14. Should be a non-issue for you, those cooled seats worked amazing.

My first truck was a 1980 F150. That must be an 81 or 82? While I do still miss it, I would miss my 08 Taco even more.

I traded my FJ in for a used 2012 F150. I got a decent trade amount but I won't buy a Canadian truck again. Here is what it looks like now but I had to work at it. It is a nice truck with tons of power out of the tuned 3.5TT.7b892749c4dd8fbb6d84a0f0050eae83_009a65931ecc4eb8c6b45427c90a6c048bf14cca.jpg
