Hello i was going to ask if the pioneer nex 4100 or the avh-x 5800 could do active settings instead of installing a crossover or dsp if i want to go active?I heard that today and just wanted to make sure...IF that is the case,It would be cheaper just to get a new model headunit and go active instead of buying a dsp or audio control product.

Looks like the 5800 does, but I have no idea how tweakable it is. Might find more about that in the owner's manual.

Do you already have an aftermarket headunit installed?

If you want a new headunit with active capabilities Pioneer 80PRS seems to be the go to for most people on the diyma forum to get around the need for a DSP.

And the last time I checked you could get one for just over 200 bucks with promos and whatnot from Jet. Single DIN though :(
