The above post nailed it OP....jmho. A "car guy" will never be satisfied driving only a truck...

I guess we have the best of both worlds. I have my 2016 Taco 4x4 and the wife has her 2016 RAV4, which by the way is kind of fun to drive and has some spunk.

Just picked up a Tacoma to replace my RSX-S and my 2000 seirra. I don't regret it for a second. I also have a bike. I think a bike and a truck are a perfect combination. What kind of bike did you get?

I drove my dads Evo X for 6 months while he was saving up to get me the Tacoma. As a teenager, of course I was one of "those" on the streets. But getting a Tacoma saved me from many more tickets. I like my Tacoma. Way more practical.

    Go drive a Tacoma 4cyl and V6
I think the manual 4cyl is one of the funniest things to drive. If v6, get the 2015 the 2016 hasn't got the problems worked out yet

Triumph Street Triple. Has a face only a mother could love but a damn good bike otherwise. After buying the bike, I've found myself much more conservative on the road. Even if I were in a sports car, I probably wouldn't drive it very hard. All making the truck decision easier. Thanks for everyone's feedback!!

Dents in roof from poorly loaded canoe. Broken side mirror from blown transfer truck tire. Scuffed up front bumper from thinking I was still in a corolla. Graham cracker embedded upholstery from a crazy kid.
I think the wife and I are going to run the same set up. She has a matrix right now, which isn't that awesome (mostly from out toddlers attempt to destroy it) but we both like the RAV4.

I went from a Lexus IS300 manual to an auto 2016 taco. Massive difference, but worth it.

While the taco isn't fun to drive or as comfy like the lexus, it provides a different type of fun: the ability to explore the wild, tow boats and cargo, etc.

Really depends on what you value more

Traded in my 2012 GLI to my 2013 Tacoma OR last September. Ya the hit in MPG sucks but I dont regret it at all. Way more versatile and fun. Much happier with a truck.

Personally, I think there are a lot of vehicles that could meet your needs, and a small utility trailer works a lot better for moving a motorcycle around than a pickup bed (safer/easier to load/unload). Unless you just want a truck, I'd probably also be considering a range of vehicles that include small SUVs, although it's harder to find things with manuals these days. Perhaps a Subaru of some sort, I think a lot of those come with manual.

I always have a truck. Bought a 16 Tacoma in the Fall, MY cars are toys, Whether Miata or Corvette. AT or MT. I would buy the MT only to save $1200. But I realize the market PHRT sells 60% AT over MT
I really don't need a regular car. Don't need the back seat. The wife drives a CRV and loves it

I was/am a car guy -- my past is littered with Audis, VWs, MR2s (3 of 'em!), Corvettes, a 240Z and a couple others, but right now, at this point in my life, all I want/need is the truck. And it's actually fun to drive in it's own way (it's a stick, for what that's worth). So I'm pretty happy with that and also enjoying having minimal automotive expenses. But I imagine at some time down the road something else fun will find it's way to my garage. For now, though, this car guy is perfectly content with just having the Tacoma.

Was a car guy...bought a Tacoma...traded the Tacoma for another car...missed the truck and traded it back in within two months. You don't realize what a blessing a truck is until you don't have it.

Paid the truck off and now, of course I want another car...This time, I'm older and wiser. Going to keep the truck and get a fast toy for the weekends when the time is right.

A gearhead is a gearhead. A truck is just a car with a box on the back half.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Added my Taco as I wanted to keep the miles off my 04 S2000 (50k). It is a totally different drive and for everyday commuting the truck is better (more comfy, more creature comforts, more room, more useful). For the fun, the truck is boooor-ing and its nice to get the S2k or the bikes out (Duc 996 / V65 Magna). If you can swing it, get / keep one of each but ultimately having a Taco and a bike would be more than sufficient.
