I have spent the past 5 years fishing for bass with no luck. 40 inches +/-24lbs. On a 6 inch chartreuse gulp grub.

You like those gulp! grubs? I really like the little 2" grubs for freshwater bass and panfish. I catch flathead catfish with big ones like yours. Great lures, in my opinion.

I got into using gulp for saltwater and I must say it has produced results. I'll add everyone I talk to is real helpful.

About 45 minutes. Went 2 for 4 that day. Got the first one in in under 15 minutes, but it turned out to be a bit green and had to let it run when it had been leader-ed and was boat side. The line rubbed the back of the Hobie and separated. Got it to leader, so it was considered a catch, but no picture opportunity.
This one just did not want to come up. Found out why when we had it yak-side. It was hooked in the shoulder, not the mouth so it didn't tire from having its head turned. Was lucky to be able to get the glory photo because once grabbing the bill, the hook came right out. It was easily and quickly revived and released.
This also came as part of a double hookup. My guide (Brian Nelli of Pushin' Water Kayak Charters - http://www.tckayakfishing.com/) had just hooked up and had me pedal over to take over the rod when my line got bit. For a couple minutes we had both sailfish tail-walking in different direction and we feared they'd cross, but his went east, mine went south. What a great fishing experience.
I often fish the nighttime for stripers off the Massachusetts coast and have caught some with size, but this was a special day.

Its a challenge to land one in a boat much less a hobie! I'd like to catch one someday...

If you ever make it to the West Palm Beach area, plan to lookup Brian. He supplies everything. I caught a few in a boat 40 miles west of Cost Rica last year, and the kayak catching was way more fun! Nice free ride!

I just caught my first striper ever on a fly on my first time out trying out the new gear! It is not much of a fish, but I was pumped. The schoolies are here up in Plum Island MA.

No, I'm not a duck hunter, but I got a deal I couldn't pass up on the waders at an LL Bean outlet.

0515160911.jpg Little rock bass. Used to catch these in upstate NY as a kid, was pleasantly surprised to catch this one today in western nebraska...brought back some good memories.

Good catch...I havent had time to go to my fishing spot where I know there are some good sized bass. Couple years ago I caught a 19 and 21" bass I also missed a bigger one at my favorite fishing spot :(

Nice fish. Looks like something has been nibbling on the tails.
