    I just ordered an AC TRD Off Road automatic. DC long bed won't fit in my garage and I was told I couldn't get a DC short bed auto here in Canada but I could get one with a manual which makes no sense to me. My sales person Is a rookie and isn't much help. I find the brochure not much help either. Can anybody clear this up for me?

    chrome valve stems covers
    Double cab shortbox comes with manual only
    Double cab longbox comes with automatic only.
    No shortbox automatic with automatic. Has been that way since 2005.
    If you don't like that. Send toyota canada a email.

    Thanks for clearing that up. I preferred the access cab anyway but I would have considered the short bed double cab if I could get an automatic.

    Go for the manual - it is a far better transmission

    Yea we get shit options.

    Just bought trd sport solely because i need a double cab. I mean i also woulda preferred a longbox manual but nope..

    I know it is but my wife wants an automatic. She's been driving stick since we were teenagers but now she's tired of it. I can't say I blame her to be honest.

    I hear ya. I don't need a double cab but I would have got an off road short box auto but that won't happen here.

    Automatic transmisions with torque converters are l o n g, standard transmisions with a clutch are tiny. It's a wheelbase issue, hope this makes sense.

    Yes it makes sense but the auto access can I'm getting is the same length as a double cab short bed which I believe they sell as a US model. I think it's more about keeping the possible model and trim combinations to a minimum here.

    Wow, really? If you can get an access cab short bed and can't get a double cab short bed.. You're right, it makes no sense..

    Sorry I confused you a bit there. I meant to say the access cab long bed is on the same wheelbase chassis as a double cab short bed. I'm getting an ac auto therefore that trans should fit in a dc short bed since only the bodies are different.
