You get those 64's from campbell around sept/oct last year??? haha

Also got the opportunity to fly a cobra! After flying 64's it was awesome to be able to take controls on its predecessor.

 

Some of them came from Campbell, everyone sent us the hangar queens and broke shit from around the world. Not saying I blame them but it made for a lot of maintenance work. I've always wanted to fly a cobra but haven't had the opportunity ever.

 

yea, we sent 17 D's ur way. we started the fielding of E's which is why our entire bn pretty much came your way. I can only imagine the scenery flying around AK

This is a shot I took in January 2012 with my cell phone of the ground scar from the EF4 tornado that hit Tuscaloosa, Alabama in April 2011.

My buddy flew AH-64's (A model I think) in Desert Storm and he got a lot of combat flight hours since they were first in.

Did a Fort MacMurray evac flight yesterday. It's a city of 83000 in northern Alberta that is ringed by wildfires. Devastating.

This thing was just boiling! Could see it rolling and growing as we flew past, every bit of moisture being sucked from the air and ground by the intense heat.

 

Here's the one that took off right before the one in my last pic. It was 4 in a row and they were within seconds (like 3 or 4 seconds) of each other.

 

JA873A, A 787-9 with Roll Trent 1000s...I've yet to ride one one.

Feds are matching dollar for dollar any contribution made to the Red Cross toward the Fort Mac disaster.

 

Sounds like they need water bombers up there really bad, as its a Perfect set of conditions for a massive wildfire, since its started burning on both the canopy and the forest floor

 

I think Mother Nature is in control now. Not sure even the DC-10 water bombers can make a difference until the weather gives them a break.

 

Watched some program the a day or so ago showing some small water takers there (one going off the runway). One of they guys they interviewed said as much.
