Hi I have a Toy Tac which hadn't caused me any issues till this past 2015 into 2016 winter. Since we didn't have much snow and my girlfriend injured herself and couldn't push the clutch in, it didn't get run much for several weeks. Usually a couple weeks or more could go by before it got run. Needless to say she was dead when i went to start her. Jumped her, she was fine, ran her for a few days and then she sat again for a week or so. Dead again. Repeat the above. Except I started running her more regular and she continued to be cold stone dead every time. Had the dealership check her, said all was fine. had the plow installation company check her, they said everything was fine except the battery was so old it had cracked. On a 1 1/2 year old brand new truck. New battery installed. Same situation. Back to plow company. replaced entire wire harness. Same problem. Any one have a thought?

Welcome! Not the fix but you could install a battery disconnect switch to keep the battery from draining in between use.

Thank you Mattgecko...looking into having that done as we speak. .....had been disconnecting the entire plow electrics from the truck but had no luck with that but hey, so far into this so far now, hate to stop. Hoping the plow install dealer/repair facility will do this one right. Thanks for your reply. Gave me the impetus to call them.

I have a truck that sat for months when I was injured and without a battery tender, I know I would have had a dead battery. When a battery has a deep discharge, it will shorten the batteries life and in some cases, it will kill a battery. I have the truck sit for weeks sometimes, but if you keep the battery fully charged with a tender, it will lengthen the life and will not be deeply discharged too.
