Keep the Shell or Remove the Shell?

    Wow, Really. 2 MPG less mileage. I would have never guessed that much ever. I have always wondered this but never took mine off to test. I cant imagine having a truck without a cap. As a matter of fact, I would not own a truck without a cap. I have been driving my 2016 for three months as I have waited on my Cap... it arrives soon and I will be able to do the same test you did. I will be bummed if it is 2 mpg less, but I will still keep the cap. I suppose it is all the extra drag... cant be the weight, they are not that heavy. thanks for your post. I'll let you know what effect I see. Also mine is a bit of a rise and not cab high. I will be getting the Sungtop Hi liner. I know it does not look as nice as without or with a cab level model, but I dont care about looks as much as function. I've only owned higher models.
