My current overlanding build. Not completed yet, But are we really ever? I have traveled through NC, VA, TN, & WV. More trips are being planned. If you are planning an east coast overlanding trip, LMK!2016-04-09 07.17.55.jpg 2016-04-09 17.43.43.jpg 2016-04-12 07.53.02.jpg 2016-04-11 08.37.09.jpg 2016-04-16 17.50.00.jpg 2016-05-02 19.59.21.jpg

So I figured this might be the right place to get some opinions, after all it does say BS in the title, haha. I am sure the majority of the TW campers visit this thread and I wanted to see what you guys thought of this idea. Portable fire pit, Tacoma style! Would break down flat for when you move camp, and would have a grill attachment for the top to cook on (not pictured). Thinking 3/16" thick plate to keep it from warping. Would $300 for a sweet Tacoma fire pit and grill be worth it?

    My concept in work

I want one... But can you do a 2012 front end on one side and the bed/tailgate on the other.

I do plan on doing the 12-15 grill too. My kids woke up from their nap and I ran out of time today, haha.

I was also thinking about the tail gate on the back side. I want to draw that up and see how it looks. It can definitely be an option. I don't think I will do truck shaped sides because that might be a little too much. But the tailgate would be pretty cool!

I think I would use it at home just as much as the trail. Would be great for when people are over. Could also do a floor and legs for driveway use, though that would add to the cost. But I own my CNC plasma so I could make each one as someone wanted it!

So I'm planning out some future mods.. I really want to pull the trigger on a prinsu rack and toss an awning on it.. question I have is; is anyone currently running this or a similar setup and how has it impeded you if at all on tighter trails? and has the awning sustained any damage because of it? One of the issues I run into locally is the trails are all very tight and in the trees my rtt has faired well for the last year but it's also mounted even with the cab thus is more protected

My birthday is this week and I'm treating myself real good this year.

Got my skid, 40" light bar, switch panel and switches from OTRATTW, axe, and more quick fists coming in and ready for install Sunday.

Also getting new tires on Saturday!

I dig that pit but wouldn't want that extra weight when camping. Happy early birthday @SixthSnail

That's a cool idea, but would be heavy, not sure what value the sides bring, rocks or a shovel take care of that 99% of the time. I have been pretty happy with my Front Runner grill, been using the shit out of it the past year.

It's not pure utilitarian, kind of something fun. I like the grill you pictured, gets the job done and takes up less space for sure.

Could you make something like mine, but with the logo as the grill surface? Then still mount it on the tire?

Cool, the storage on the tire is really a fantastic solution, keeps the mess out of the truck and in a convenient spot for access, I have been really happy with how mine is working out.

Would love it to stay generic like the Toyota symbol or TRD. Using the later gen truck years is a turn off for us old timers trucks.

I stumbled on one of your posts when you first got this grill. What a great idea! I think I need to get one after I figure out a good way to mount the spare tire.

It has been pretty awesome, I use it every time I go camping, and super convenient to carry around even if you don't use it it isn't in the way. The price tag is the only thing prohibitive about it ($160), but I won it in a raffle.
