I am going to be making a custom bed rack like this one @Jt_dirt7 made. Is there a way to "lock" it into the bed rails without the possibility of someone taking it. I plan on securing a thule skybox to it and want everything to be safe without the possiblity of being taken.

I know that i can use bolts like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Button-Securi...e&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_12&smid=A2GM3D5OCSHPC3
to screw into the slot nuts, but is there a way to lock it in there that's more secure from theft?

    thanks

That's probably your best bet if you want to mount it to the rails.

If you drill through the rails/inside of the bed, you could use carriage bolts with only the heads exposed and hide the nuts within the bed walls.

man, that sucks that nobody has made or found anything to be able to truly lock something to the bed rails. Ive been looking for a lock to try and hook through the angle iron into the bed rail and have been unsuccessful...

Weld a pair of legs that come off the front or the rear that goes through the bed, drill a hole in the ends with a backer plate and throw a combo lock on it?

I can show you how I bolted it down on my truck. I used the factory rail system, I'll take pictures once the rain slows a little. But I'm not worried about people stealing it, it's pretty decently heavy so it's pretty tough for one person to get it out, it really takes two people and even then it's still sorta heavy. I'm not worried about people stealing it, but stealing the equipment I put on it
