All our trucks come with a GoPro mount. How many of you are really using it or have you bought an aftermarket type of dash cam? If you are using a dash cam what one have you chosen.

I use a hero 3+ with a skeleton case. I use it for my daily drives and long trips. I have several batteries, but next week hope to have wired in power to it.

I use a G1W. Had it since Jan 1 of '15 and it's never skipped a beat. Captured my crash in Feb just fine and kept rolling. Used it as evidence too. I did have to swap out the stock mount once it broke, but the replacement was $6 and it's been fine since. Camera was $50 off Amazon plus a 32GB SD card.

If I wanted to get higher quality footage I'd go for a GoPro, plus it's easy to mount outside or on other objects. It's just not a replacement for a dash cam really and higher cost.

If would be neat if they added some kind of dash cam like feature to their firmware on them though. Loop record is close enough with constant USB power I suppose.

    There's a dash cam thread, I think.
