Big update post from a really fucking busy weekend. I knew I was wheeling Sunday so I had to get all my tools back in and my tailgate back on, etc.

Painted the sides of the bed with VHT chassis black:

    565EA5DD-9AD4-4818-994B-09DF54B3027D_ca5c158dcdbaadab04f8b3b1f0e9597a10aaef90.jpg

Then painted the tailgate but ran out of paint so I had to run it half painted. I also tinted my ambers red to give the tail lights a cleaner look.

My tail gate had dents in it from the bumper even if I adjust it. It just barely doesn't touch the bumper but the moment load is put onto the tailgate they connect. I decided to move the mounts for the cables to hold the tailgate up a smidge higher:

Next was to cut the bedliner. I lose so much space on the sides because of it. I will likely replace it with a mat but for now it's okay. The reason why I need anything at all is that my holes have been patched with fiberglass till I can get the panels properly fixed with a welder. Then I can bedline the bed,

Next up was getting the tool box back on, and plugging the CB back on. CB antenna is now rocking a lift and lay for parking garages, car washes, etc.

Did a high lift mod I got from @JLink. Took my old spare tredwright that got a buldge in the sidewall, cut a piece out and mounted it to the base of the highlift. More stability FTMFW!

Next up was re-mounting the spare, and getting the CO2 in. I need to still build something to make the CO2 higher and let the carrier line up with the bed rail, but for now ratchet straps would do.

    Boom. Ready for the weekend.

The plan was to take my future brother in law on his first trip to Rausch Creek, or offroading in general. He has a bone stock Jeep so we were only going to take him on green trails. He did really well for his first time. Eventually he parked his Jeep so @planters15 and I could hit some of the harder trails. I still took the easier lines/wanted to stick to easier trails because I still don't have the sliders back on and really didn't want to damage a rocker.

Also luckily this was the same weekend as FJNE and I have a buddy who has an FJ that had a cabin at Twin Grove campground local to Rausch.

My bro in law also got sick rolling shots of me on the way up:

Rausch was slick, rainy and foggy. Could barely see all day. Nice part was that we were the only ones on the trails.

Had lunch and went into the roswell section of RC. This section is really muddy. This drop off took us all by surprise and ripped off my license plate and @planters15 gas tank strap off:

Bottle jack life hack: get a hook from home depot and put it into a cordless drill. I apparently threw away my old hardware when I got the highlift not thinking I would never have sliders. This made using the jack so fast.

I had the same problem with my bumper. I ended up wallowing out 2 holes so I could pull it down a half inch.

Not a bad idea either. I'm digging the new position right now we'll see how it is for loading bikes

    More work:

Had issues with my HID's coming on, the weather connectors seem to get crap in them. Cleaned the connectors with electric contact cleaner and treated the connections with dielectric grease and we have light:

    B101748D-E41B-4455-90F3-A6AB4BECE0B7_75f1bd65f942a526a4cdcd14ad357ef1ff581791.jpg

Also had grease spitting from a boot due to a loose clamp. I FUCKING HATE THESE BOOT CLAMPS. Filled an old grease cartridge wit CV grease, and used a needle fitting to fill the boot back up. Then re-clamped. I also see that even though that one has a boot slide mod the one boot is rubbing so it's days seem limited.

    Also replaced my brake pads.

    0E7B47CE-EC43-4D4D-81DC-02B424AF037D_6eed6a320a74248d72501d9d737ee8675761472d.jpg

Also worked on making a permanent mount for my CO2 tank:

    7682E88D-AB1F-466E-8AC5-0B7BF21173C3_de30e461a3a55bf11fe89950ef65ff9dee944ff8.jpg

Did some cable cleaning in the tool box:

    69996441-59DF-440D-A29F-FFD505E926C0_73a9f2f98d293ee8875b97656923d9aeb113a3ac.jpg

Also beat the fuck out of my cabs pinch weld so that they dont rub the sliders when we weld them back on when the frame flexes. I also plan on mounting the sliders lower but also wanted it bent over so that if they do rub the weld self clears now. It chipped a bunch of paint off so I treated it with a rust converter and then sealed it all up with a clear silicone.

Got a couple shift knobs from my brother in law. I went with the round one, it looks cleaner to me though is lightly less comfortable because of how small it is.

Ha really? I figure with all the work I'm doing with the bru sea I should invest in one since I have a ton of lugs to crimp for that setup and then when I get a winch and relocate the solenoid or get a dual battery setup. Oh well you know my policy when it comes to tewls. :p

Alright so new fuse block is in. This fuse block will have constant power so I can use these accessories when the truck is off/no key in. Usually whenever I need shit from the tool box or bed, the key is not in.

Got a heavy duty lug crimper on Amazon:

It's metric so you gotta do conversions, but it crimps real nice.

Started from the front and moved my way back.

Hot wire is 6 AWG, runs into a 50 amp blue sea breaker, then runs down the frame and up into the tool box.

Ground for the breaker is run into the cab via the hole that goes to the cubby. I had something else grounded here before. It's great because for the most part it is protected from corrosion/weather.

Both wires go to the aux fuse panel nice and cleanly.

    Little test and it works!

    Next up is switches/more wiring.

They are re-treads from treadwright. Basically they take an old tire's casing and slap a new tread around it. When you buy a set of 4 for example they give you all of them with matching casings. When I had an issue with one, I bought a replacement from them and I guess it had a different casing then my other ones. I never even noticed haha

Some progress. Sprayed the clear on the tailgate. I couldn't get the metallic flake even on the tailgate but I'm so over this project that IDGAF anymore. Just gotta wetsand and buff it and it's finally done.

Also worked on the transmission skid a bit more. Got the holes drilled and tested, I made them larger than needed for easier installation. This skid is basically installed pinned between t-case and IFS skids so it's not a big deal.

Started getting the structural support done. Just doing a box and calling it good.
