Keep in mind that the Deaver J-59's have their limits. Especially if you are going off-road. From what I have read anything more than 500 lbs with off roading will ruin them in short order. They are NOT a spring for real heavy loads on a regular basis. However, mine seem to be doing quite well so far and I probably have close to 500lbs back there with the shell. I don't do any serious wheeling though on a regular basis and I just did the suspension install about 6 months ago so everything is new. The NitroChargers are a stiff shock designed for load carrying so they ride quite stiff at slow speed off road with what I carry around regularly.. They are stiff at slow speeds on road as well but I like mine. The ride is stiff but not objectionable and if I ever have to carry 800lbs at least I know the shocks are built to handle it. It is a truck after all. I bought all my stuff from Wheeler's Off Road and paid them to assemble the front struts. As near as I can tell, they did a superb job. The front struts came labeled right and left and I have no Taco lean. I will eventually install some Firestone air bags for that once in a blue moon situation where I want to pack 1000 lbs in the bed but for what I carry around the J-59's by themselves are more than adequate. Where this suspension really shines for me is on rough pavement at 75+ mph. It just gobbles it up and the truck never jumps around like it did with the worn out stock stuff.

Depends what you plan doing long term I think. If you want to stay at just 1" go with 5100 or 880 or stock replacements (which I think you still may rub with...just my opinion). If you plan on lifting more later, I'd just go with coilovers right away. This way you can adjust the exact amount of lift you want up front. Later on if you want more, just crank em up. The ride will be great too. I think there's a set of icons currently for sale in the 1st gen FS forum if you wanna save a little cash.

if you can afford it id also recommend a quality set of coilovers like fox or icon or something similar. they will be 0-2.5 or 0-3 inches of lift depending on what ya choose. they will give you the best ride out of any of the options, especially the cheaper stuff! Since you only want one inch of lift a set of one of those brand coilovers will ride sooo nicely!

On the rear your AAL idea will work fine but again if you can afford id go with a full new rear leaf pack, im sure yours is fairly shot or atleast weak. As has been mentioned already wheelers has a good choice of rear packs with the right range of lift height you're lookin for.

what!? Ride height increase will certainly correct the tire rub...youre a savy dude, you must have misunderstood op's issue/question.

It will help at ride height without compressing suspension but with real world driving its not gona eliminate the rubbing altogether. Say he doesn't go offroad, hes still gona come across situations where the suspension articulates and will rub. Should trim the pinch weld just to be on the safe side so it doesn't cut up his tires anyways.

You mean same size tires and a one inch ride height increase? I get what you mean...yes you're right pinch weld needs to go!

Sorry I'm late to reply to this, but I've since discovered that yes, I'm rubbing on the pinch weld which won't be solved by lifting my truck, unfortunately. I have stock size tires so it's a bit of a mystery as to why I'm rubbing, but I suspect it's because I have aftermarket wheels with incorrect spacing? At any rate, what's the best way to solve the pinch weld issue as a DIY home project? A hammer? Lol.

I hit a dip on a turn today and I heard my tire grind up against the pinch weld and it sounded like death, was afraid I may have blown the tire (i didnt). But I don't want to risk it, especially when off roading...

Cut the plastic and bend the pinch weld behind it.

As for not being able to solve the rubbing by lifting, I do not comprehend this as I have done this exact same thing as I previously mentioned.

Yeah like boost said you'll need to cut a lil chunk of that plastic off, the raised portion there, it'll be obvious. Then cut, bash or both that stupid pinch weld with what ever means you have on hand. Then hit it with a shot of your favorite rattle can paint to seal her up and reduce any rust issue and you're golden.
Also if youre runnin stock tires its definitely the wheels causing the rub. Even at that though im kinda suprised you have a rub. Are your wheels hella major wide er something?
