    I used the GoPro mount on the windshield. I hacked together a GoPro mount from eBay with a suction cup type mount for the detector. Also bought a mirror tap kit.     Just use it for a while clipped to the visor, before you contemplate putting a lot of effort into doing a clean modification install.

    I could never get used to those things. You don't understand the number of false alarm noise you get until you have one in your car for a while.

    Uniden LRD-950 and a Mirror Mount. Works well and I used a mirror tap to get power very easily from the mirror connector.

    I've got a passport max mounted with the escort sticky mount right below the center mirror and tapped power off the cigarette lighter fuse. Ran the cable up the A pillar and across the headliner. I posted some pix in another thread.

    Whistler Pro 3450 remote. I like the more permanent mount and less clutter in the windshield and added theft protection . Plus they "claim" the antenna mounted out front (behind the grill) supposedly has less interference. YMMV

    My Escort/Passport 8500X50 is just below the rear view mirror using the factory suction cup mount, works great. I will get pics of it soon.

    But I do like the mount that unixadm supplied the link for, thanks.

    I have an ancient Passport 8500, literally from like 12 to 15 years ago. It still works great. I keep it in the glove box most of the time but for long road trips I will break it out when needed. I have not used it in the 2016 yet because I'm trying to drive like a grandpa to play the Fuel Economy game and figure out why I'm getting such shitty gas mileage on the gutless 3.5L motor. Anyway, yea, the 8500 works great.

    I have a valentine 1 and have been using the suction cups for now. I like the go pro mount idea , but I've also got a remote kit for the Valentine as well that I might try

    Still waiting for my new Taco, but will be installing my V1 in it 1st thing. Never leave home without my V1. Have had great success with my old escort x50, but those arrows on the V1 are totally worth it.

    Anyways this is how I mount my V1. Replaced suction cups with VHB. Parts: 2 sheet metal screws and washers, a thin 1" strip of aluminum and some
    $7 3M VHB 100x200mm~ (4" X8") Double Sided Foam Adhesive Sheet Tape 5952 Automotive Mounting Industrial Grade Very High Bond 5952 (1 Sheets 100x200mm)

    Underworld Flex trifold, tinted, TRDPRO grill, TRDPRO shift knob, etc,etc
    I have the Escort 9500IX hidden by a cap, low and centered on my W/S. The wiring is hard wired to the driver’s side kick-panel fuse box, out of sight, with the direct wire smart cord below the driver’s side cubby switches.
    Alternatively, I did try high on W/S with the sticky cup, but it did not hold on account of the tint strip on top. Plus, I didn't like the wire leading up to the headliner showing like that.
    Final setup on dash works great with cap on it at all times! So as they say, if at first you don’t succeed, try & try again.
