Hi thanks for helping. I'm currently in the market for a Tacoma and have been cruising CL like a hawk when I found this good looking rig. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/5539536150.html
I don't have much knowledge on either one and if I were to purchase this one it would be my daily driver. Any advise on the mileage or possible problems i.e. under powered or high mileage complications I may have with it being my daily driver? and what do you think of the rig? is it worth selling my current vehicle and purchasing? Thanks again any advise will help

I'd offer him $7k, cash on the barrel head. If he took it, I would stare lovingly at it every chance I got. Oh, and I would also make it my go-to steelhead fishing rig.

I seriously would be all over that thing like stink on a monkey if it were in my area, but if it were in my area, it would be a rust bucket.

yeah the only thing I am cautious about is the blue book value only being at 5K in excellent condition

I think the brand new tires and suspension work are worth a few extra bucks over book value. Like I said, I'd pay $7k for it all day long, and it would get worked. There would be an RTT on that roof within a week.

Clean rig a bit high for the mileage but I didn't see in there if the timing belt was replaced?

yeah it didn't say but I'm sure with the time he took on everything else he should have done that. not much mention on the motor though so it has me curious. I think I'm going to go look at it tomorrow

In my area, a 4x4 4Runner in good condition like that one and at that mileage would be up around 11-12k. This is the sort of vehicle I wish I had found originally 3 years ago when I got my 2nd gen.

If you do get it id look into seeing if they put a new radiator on it. 3rd gens are notorious for pink milkshake the older they get.

Having gone 250k, Aug 2016 was the time to replace the original clutch & get the driver's seat rebuilt/stuffed. Front & back Weathertech liners. Tundra front disc brake swap. Full length Rocky Mountain Rack with 40" lightbar & alternating strobe rear dust lights. I used a warm weekend in March 2022 to finally install my brand new, from old stock, 2000 4Runner driver's seat. $800 directly from the factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
The only problem I'd have is it being an automatic, as I prefer a manual. Other than that though, I'd pull the trigger on it. I bought mine in 2008 for $10k & then spent another $10k doing everything in his NEW list.

I'd be willing to go 8k on it, maybe even 8.5k. The lack of rust is my #1 priority. Those things will run forever, so I wouldn't let the mileage bother me.

Seems like it was well taken care of and maintained. But, it also seems like the guy would be pretty reluctant to move on his price.

    Good luck.
