charli,I thought of you today......A couple of hours ago I picked up my truck from the dealer from having three warranty issues resolved. When I pulled in in a Taxi to pick it up I saw it sitting there, all freshly clay-barred and shiney from about 4 hours of work last weekend. The first thing I noticed was it's extreme proximity to the chain link fence behind it.When I checked,it was parked into the fence so far that it actually bowed around the corner of the bumper under tension. The fencing material turned out to be plastic, but I'm sure you get my point. The bumper was not marked, believe me I checked close, and in I went.......Keeping in mind I was in uniform,on my way to work,I asked to see the service manager. In his office,I very politely thanked him for the service on my truck. He had gone to bat for me on one of my issues and it was important to me that he know I appreciated it.Having said that,I asked who parked my truck...when he asked why I told him to look out his window. He did and cringed and asked if it was touching the fence.I explained that not only was it touching,it was about 8 inches into it.If it's marked,it's on us he explained and I told him it wasn't.What I did tell him however was to in whatever way he saw fit, explain to his crews to treat peoples property with a little more respect and care.

Bottom line is that it's completely unacceptable to be so careless with your customers vehicles....It's unprofessional, disrespectful and potentially costly.

Thank you! Yeah, I expect that it will be a long quest to find a good shop if there's ever something needs done that we can't do....

That actually sounds fun, but it will take some time for me to secure that approval.
Anyone wanna help out with how I can make "Hey Honey, this guy I met on TW is coming to visit for a weekend! We're gonna go out for a good long ride, and then when we get back we're gonna get hammered on tequila. Can you watch the kids?" sound good? :p

Keep in mind when ya'll are trying to make that sound good that he's already somewhat jealous of the motorcycle, and he knows what I get like when I drink alot. :D

Wow, people just don't think do they?! How could they not have noticed what they were doing? It's not like they could have not noticed the fence (or the truck stretching the fence)! I'm glad that there were no marks on your truck though! Definately a good time to be in uniform too--even more impressive! I'm betting there's gonna be a meeting about that one that no one's going to enjoy!

Luckily, there's only one person that can get me that drunk... lol Our wives are best friends so that usually only happens at one of our houses as they both know what would happen if we hit the bars instead.

Yeah, mine hasn't been out to play in a while either. pt's right--kids do that. I'm not allowed to drink at all without the presence of my husband. And I don't blame him at all for that--it's just common sense! LOL!

Charli - Sorry to hear aout your aggravating experience. Like someone else said, it seems people don't have a work ethic anymore. I do think part of it is the fact you are a woman too, as I've had the same experience when taking various cars in for service. The other thing I often think about is whether these creeps are just jealous cause you have something nice and they don't. Hope you find a better place to get your bike serviced. :)

ROFL! I don't usually miss those days DonG! Being young is too complicated and frankly, I need my sleep! Hanging out on TW is about as wild as I get anymore. LOL!

Thanks HotTamale! I'm going to ask as many people as I can where they go and see if I can reach a consensus! Word of mouth is usually the best indication of good service. By the way--your truck is beautiful! The color is so vibrant--I don't usually care for red cars, but that color is gorgeous!
