Stainless steel water tank I had custom built that fits in a spare tire location under the bed on a 2nd gen tacoma, it hoists and lowers using the same system to hoist and lower the spare tire. It is roughly the size of a 32" tire, only filled it once and I forget the gallon capacity of this tank although I do believe it is 10+ gallons. Not willing to ship, located in Manitou Springs, Co. Taking a huge loss on this, asking $340. Willing to bring it out to RT for someone who wants to purchase it.

I can't remember an exact weight, and I don't have a scale to weigh it but I believe it is right around 40lbs dry.

With water being around 8 lbs per gallon, that brings the total weight of the container filled to around 120 lbs.

Would the spare tire system be able to handle that weight?

I would say yes, although I never had it fully filled plus had a huge tire strap around it to help keep it in place. I know there are plenty of guys who put a 33" tire in that location, somewhat close to that weight.

Any chance of seeing where the water spigot is located, and how it seals?

Can it be filled and emptied while in the location of the spare tire?

I was wrong, someone did the math for me and it holds 18.75 gallons. There is no spigot, basically just nipples so you can connect lines to it to fill and empty. The way I had it positioned under the bed I was able to fill it while it was in place, it just emptied via gravity.

I wouldn't want to trust the cable spare tire holder when full of water. I would want to use the later model spare holder that used a chain...........Just FYI, because I was gonna swap mine for chain unit..........The mounting holes are different and the chain one would require 2 new holes on the support member and use bolt/nut on those 2. And for anyone buying this that doesn't have a chain lifter, I do, with oem spare lock. If interested in swapping from cable to chain, PM me. It is in brand new shape.............GLWS
