I have the v6 3.4 liter 2002 ext cab tacoma. Its automatic and supercharged butbi read somewherw that the supercharger is hard on the auto transmission. So i want to do a swap. What kind of transmission will bolt up to the 3.4? I have been scouring the internet but couldnt find anything.. also for the swap...i know i need a slave and master cylinder, clutch, and ecu on top of the transmission is there anything else i need? Oh and the interior changes like the stick. Any help will be appreciated

Might be cheaper and easier to just beef up your current transmission with stronger aftermarket/performance parts so it can handle the supercharger (as well as the weight of those 35's it says you're running). Unless you're looking for a manual for the enjoyment of having one as well (which I totally understand). I have an '04 with the TRD supercharger and 5 speed manual and it's awesome.

I have no experience with swaps though, sorry. All I know is that you'll need a R150F transmission from another Tacoma, Tundra or T-100 of the same year. This link might prove helpful: https://www.midwesttrans.com/Toyota_r_series.html

Yeah i definitely want a manual and that link was very helpful. I think im gonna try and find a donor truck to swap everything besides the actual transmission and clutch. Which i would buy new.

I have a 5 speed mated to the transfer case. (2nd gear syncro bad on tranny) You could have it for the low price of $100!!! anyway, shipping is probably up the ying yang anyway. But, its a start!

I think you'll need to get a manual tranny ECU, as well as get crafty with installing the clutch pedal, also you'll need to install the clutch cylinders and run those lines. Probably some other things I forgot.

IMO I would go with the "run till it breaks" here. You never know, it might last longer than you think. I haven't seen anything from folks saying their auto blew up from a SC

Heat and lack of maintenance is what kills auto trannies...

Do regular fluid changes, install a tranny cooler and run the snot out of it.
