This mid height rack is now designed and off to the laser cutter. They will be available in approx one week.

    Pre-order here: http://www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/toyota-tacoma-bed-rack-fits-years-2005-2016

The first batch will only consist of a couple, so jump on it.

The tall version is 18" above the side rail caps, the mid height version is 10" above the side rail caps.

    Mid Height (10" high)

    Tall (18" high)

This may be like throwing Rosie O'Donnel into a group of SI swimsuit models but............ I bought this cheap rack off ebay for my F350 a few years back to haul a canoe maybe 6 times a year so I couldn't justify the price of a Thule or a Yakima. Well I got rid of the F350 and replaced it with the Tacoma. Luckily the bars on the rack collapsed far enough to accommodate the narrower bed rails on the Tacoma. I just took some 3/16" steel plate and drilled a couple holes, had it welded to the rack with a small stop welded into each hole then filed down to the shape I wanted. I used 1/2" carriage bolts ground to form a T and ground the threads flat on one side of the bolt. Then purchased some knobs to tighten the whole contraption to the rails. For roughly $125 and some fiddling around to get it to work I'm not going to complain. Now I need to find a roof rack to span the length of the canoe. rack1.jpg rack2.jpg rack3.jpg
