The hardest part about this year is we don't have a a definitive camping spot so far.
Cell reception is tricky, so the combination of this makes it very important for us to know when you plan to show up so we can be in the right spot to help you find the rest of us at HQ.

post up so I can get that updated.

Hey...me too! So where is the closest bathroom type facility?

Great vid Mike. A video is worth a thousand pics which is worth a thousand words...or something like that.

I've got an "instant" canopy to block sun and a smallish table with folding legs.

Oh, another question - what about a campfire in either of those locations?

@Chickenmunga was Browns booked up, or just the group spots? I thought the rest of the campsite was first come first serve? If we could somehow manage to get there early Friday, we might be able to get 2 sites next to each other?

That's a good point. I could get up there Early Friday if I head up on Thursday and stay with friends in Hillsboro.

This is the site I found for group reservations, I'm not sure the extent of the reservation. @Benson X this might be good information to know if you are in process of talking with them. We would still need 2 group sites or 1 group site and 2 non-reservable, non-group sites.

Here is the campground map, if I'm looking at it right, our desired spot is always spot 16.

If we wanted to do strictly non-group sites, we would need a minimum of 5 sites (law states you can only have 2 vehicles per site), which I don't think works logistically.

Overall, I'm still hoping for the dispersed option, which gives us the best likelihood of being in one spot easily without disturbance, provided no one else snipes our spot.

Its amazing we were the only ones told we couldn't have more than 2 vehicles. Last year, site 15 had at least 8 vehicles outside of it, plus 3 trailers.

Interestingly I didn't think about that when thinking about dispersed sites. I think Lyda has an outhouse, but I'd have to double check. I can't remember what was out Cedar Creek area either. Depending on how things go this weekend, I might find time on Sunday to make it out there.

@penguins_cc had a really awesome solution - he had a portable propane fire pit. Do any of you guys have one of those? It would solve issues for 'fires must be in a fire pit', but I'd still want clarification from OFS what rules govern those devices.

I have one of those odd memories. And because they were driving their fucking 4 wheelers at midnight. I think you had left that night though, so you didn't have to deal with it.

I may have pulled an old man and gone to bed earlier than that, but I remember the noise...

We are also the only ones who notified OFS we were coming. Nice guys finish last  No blame to any of our guys; I was on board with our initial procedure and shocked by the results. This is, after all, our 7th annual run and the first time we are under scrutiny. I've always seen ourselves as some of the good guys, as I've noted all of you respectfully allow bikes to pass, keep on trails, avoid any trail damage, clean trails as we go, and camp noise is generally minimal - yet, rules are rules, and I'd rather focus on being thankful that this run is allowed to happen at all this year.
