I waited 2 months to get my truck. I was very concerned with some of the issues regarding transmission and such. I trolled the posts, debated on tires and wheels, keeping me up at night even. In the end, I really feel its still a tacoma. True to its heritage. Its gonna be a wonderful truck for years to come. I get some of the complaints, but after owning several toyota trucks. I get their quirks, and I'm super stoked about the truck so far.

    Nice ride OP, and congrats!
I like the MG look U got going on, I chose the storm trooper myself. :D
The which proves you can’t listen to what someone on any forum says without a grain of salt B/C you never know what their motives or agendas are.
If I had listen some of them, I’d bought an extended warranty, made a half a dozen trips to the stealership for nought and would have lost countless hrs there and in my sleep lol!
Well maybe not for nought…I’m sure I would have left there with some scratches, missing fasteners and maybe some hidden damage from their miss handling.

I’m coming up on 5k on the clock with no issues or trips to the stealership and it just drives better everyday. Or could be I'm just loving it more each day??

    Stay safe

    Cheers!

I just spent another session in ect mode. Kinda funny, I think my brain is aready adapting to driving in the normal mode. Meaning, give it gas to grab the torque. It was almost a little annoying having such a snappy truck. I can't believe what I'm saying! Also, its been fun getting all the compliments from friends. Everyone seems to love the styling.

I haven't had any issues with my SR-5. I did check my transmission fluid and had to add about 3/4 of a quart. When done, I disconnected the battery for about 1/2 hour to reset everything. There is a noticeable improvement with shifting (holds gears a bit longer). But it drives great, comfortable, and in S-5 with ECT on in the mountains it has plenty of power. Everything is stock and I hit 24 mpg on a 70 mile trip over the coast range day before yesterday.
