Hey guys I have an 01 3.4 double cab 4wd. I few weeks back I ran into an unsuspecting deep hole while running some trails and had to wing out: 2882afa9799d69891df9a33bd9cbfdbd_95420274ded6d5efd9f90a3d7a322454d25c4f63.jpg

Water got in the cab and who knows where else. I drove out of the forest back to my work with no problems except smelling something burning briefly like an electrical smell. We jumped out looking for smoke but found none and the smell went away. Got back to work and cut the truck off for 2 or 3 minutes while I dropped some buddies off. Went to crank it back up and it was an Awful miss and couldn't drive the truck. It looks like this:

    https://vimeo.com/165797039

Pulling wires to figure out which cylinder is missing and it seems that the entire bank 2, driver side bank is missing because there was no change when I pulled the wires. I've checked the wires and coil packs and replaced all the spark plugs. Checked and cleaned the maf sensor. Checked voltage on o2 sensors and all seemed good according to my ultra gauge.

Unrelated I replaced my pcv valve, cleaned throttle body and iac and replaced my alternator.

I thought the computer might have gotten wet but it was much higher than the level of water. Any help would be much appreciated.

You may have gotten water onto the main coils which in turn is causing the other bank not to fire. I cant remember which side is bank 1 but if that is case. I would check the other side coils if bank 2 is the drivers side.

Did you check your connectors to them? You didn't get the PCM wet did you?

It's hard to believe it isn't throwing any more codes. The one code that it should be throwing is a P300 which is a Multiple Cylinder Misfire. Which according to you and your diagnostics.......should be doing.
You need to pull one of the plugs on bank 2 and see if it is firing or not.

Oh and screw the scan gauge. Get some real diagnostic equipment ( multimeter ) and start checking voltages.

    Plugs are firing.

I pulled each wire in that bank and it made no difference to how the engine is running.

And there is no codes or CEL. it could be I'm not letting it run long enough for the computer to perform the diagnostics but I don't want to damage the engine by running it like this more than necessary.

Pull a plug, put the wire on it, lay the plug on a metal surface and see if there is a spark.

This. Seeing as you did go through water, it is a plausible idea and great starting point to seeing if the CKP sensor is water damaged, wet, or something else.

You should be able to pull up crankshaft position sensor info on the scanguage as well, check that parameter and see if you are getting a signal. Otherwise bust out the multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.

Well this weekend I replaced the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor and there was no change unfortunately.
