I was rotating my tires today and found that the front two tires had a number of flat spots all along the tread rears are fine? What causes this? I have @ 25k miles on these 265 Cooper Discoverer STT.

Mud tires can be bad for this because the lugs are so big and they twist a lot when turning or of your alignment is off. Getting them siped could help, but I'd suspect your alignment is off, or you're not rotating them. You might find that helps.
