Wouldn't it be nice to have a 3rd gen Tacoma engine and aggressive styling like this?

Days of a V8 in a mid-sizer are long gone. If automakers are gonna make any truck to ding their CAFE numbers, it will be their full size trucks which are the most profitable. Mid-sizers get screwed.

Why mod from ugly to ugly? That thing is just as hideous of a Hoover snout.

I'd order one in two seconds if that was the real 3rd gen look. The current one reminds me of gonzo. image.jpg

The 4runners use to have an option for the the 4.8L v8 i wish they still offerd that, i never understood why they never offered it on Tacoma's being the same vehicle.

The motor is perfect!!! You can get up and go if you want, just shift and use ETC as already mentioned. It has sufficient power to tow all my toys. My 4x4 with large tires can also get 23mpg when I take it easy on the loud stick. IMHO, the motor is perfect!!!

Did you use the ECT PWR button? You should try that out.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
If you want a fast truck go get a full size diesel. With a few minor mods you can be > 1000 ft lbs of torque and more than satisfied.

In reality, no way a Japanese vehicle will be "fast" in any manner. There are a few exceptions (LFA, GTR, etc) but not many.

For the record I don't mind the 3rd gen, but that front end is goofy looking!

But all companies are in a front end phase that sucks right now. I think Ford, Chevy, and Toyota have weird front ends. Dodge though....they are okay in my book.

I mean it looks like you could put the V8 in there, why does it stick out so far?! o_O
