I don’t tow anything heavy, so the V6 seemed adequate to me. Got the M/T model. Got some minor issues…shifting gate is clunky going from second to third, no power seat on driver side, nits mainly. Power, acceleration more than ok, MPGs ok.

    3rd gen.

    This is completely hog walsh...lol

If anyone gets in a 3rd gen v6 and presses the throttle to the floor and hold it there untill u hit 100mph....theres no way possible anyone can say these trucks are slow.

They are very lacking under 3000rpm no denying that. But if u r heavy on the trottle and let this engine spin up to 4,5,6000rpm it will pull u back in the seat. The trucks max HP is at redline.....

3rd gen is not lacking power, the power has just been shifted toward the higher rpm range.

Exactly. The power is there for sure. I get on/off the highway several times
everyday on my commute and not once has it felt like a lack of power.

Power is there you just need to floor it. Just like a Nissan Versa. Which I expect better from a thirty-nine-thousand-dollar truck with the largest power plant in all configurations available.

Fine by me, but the same year model 4Runner front end doesn't look like that....hence my liking of his photoshop work in the first place.

Their are lexus models like the small coups are fast, and the LS has v8 packing some power, as well as the tundra with the 5.7 has really good get up and go.

The 3rd gen has every right to use the same bathroom as the 2nd or the 1st gen.

Upsetting to be discriminating on 3rd gen....there all TACOMA'S at heart.

I sold my 2nd gen for my 3rd gen and I can assure you with that ECT PWR button on it will get up and go faster than the gen 2.

I used to have a Dodge Dakota with a 5.8 liter V8. You want to talking about power. WOW. I could light the tires coming off of any stop light I wanted to. Any time it rained or was slightly damp out, Slide around corners and fish tail every where. I used to have to put 2 50 lb bags of concrete in the back so I would slide around as much. Power in a mid Sized truck is what one makes of it. Be careful for what you wish.
