    this. to meet EPA you bet your arse this program is locked. bypass this and your MPG will drop through the floor. doable, but then you'll have horrible emissions and eventual downstream exhaust problems

    toyota products have always been on the simple side, thats why they are so reliable. now we are moving into the epa ages and they are trying, behind the curve ball for sure, if ford can get 300+ hp out of a 2.7, (at 100,000 miles i wouldnt want it) its baffling toyota wasnt doing long term testing on the 2016 motor and tranny combo. the camry and corolla, due to high sales volumes were toyotas anchor for years to clear epa mpg avg guidelines, not sure what the sales numbers are now days, but im sure kia and hyndai have taken a big share

    so the tacomas are getting squeezed for more mpg, and we are on the receiving end, this engine and tranny combo will be around for a long time, in toyotas eyes theirs nothing wrong with it.
