Most factory leather interiors utilize the vinyl on the outside bolster area which tends to wear quickly. Katzkin uses their leather on the front bolster and insert areas both.

Same here... if you can spare an hour or so per seat, can turn a wrench to remove the seats, then there's really no reason why you would need to take it in to have it done. Get the hardware and installation kit that John sells (at least he used to) and have at it. Take your time and be patient. So worth it IMO.

I did mine over the course of 3 or 4 nights... brought it in the house and watched some TV with the (now ex) gf.

That's what I was referring to... I think (at the time, 6 yrs ago almost), John had a set of hog rings and a pair of pliers for like $15... I think I could have saved $5 had I gone out and gotten them myself, but hey... one trip to the wrong store and that would have eaten half my savings in gas.

Plus I got a neat little snap close Rubbermaid container for the rings, which I still use to this day.

Has anyone used steam on the seats after install to get the wrinkles out?

I am thinking of having you order plain black Katz for my 2015 Base DCSB and installing it!

@jhuey8947 I purchased my Tacoma with Katzkin already installed on my seats but would like to add heated seats. Is this an option?

Is there a way to make the leather tighter so it doesn't wrinkle or crease?

    Yawn...
My shop told me to wait until I had someone sit in every seat and had the material stretched. Then after a week passed, they applied heat and a good 90% of the wrinkles went away.

So quick opinion, for a 2016 Blazing Blue Pearl, is Cobalt a closer match than lets say Pacific. Cant get a good gauge but the Cobalt looks a tad bright.

    Any opinions?

    Thank you.
