I've never owned a cap and after buying a SnugTop Rebel I don't think I'll ever go back without one.

I read over numerous posts about Leer vs ARE vs SnugTop and after mulling it over I pulled the trigger on the Rebel. The fit and finish on mine is spot on to the factory magnetic gray whether it's in the shade or in the sun. The cap fits great and after some good rains it's stayed dry inside without a single leak!

I did have one problem with the SnugTop and that was the line that came down by the TRD OR stickers on the rear so I remedied that by peeling them off, turned out pretty good. I've removed every badge and sticker on the truck. I've never been a fan of chrome or stickers... Removed the SnugTop badges too....

Just curious why you went with the Rebel and not one of the other models, I have been looking and am on the fence on which one to order, snug top models, how much did you have to throw down?

I'm usually not a big fan of the way the 2016's look, but that looks freak'n sweet!

I looked at the Leer 100XR and then the SnugTop. 3 things stood out on the Rebel. The locking mechanism, construction/paint and my local dealer.

I was dead set on the 100XR until they put one on my truck and the color was noticeably off. Maybe it was just that cap but for 2000.00+ I wasn't going to live with that. I also liked the fact that it overhangs just a little more than the other caps out there and has been 100% water tight.

The locking mechanism just feels more "solid" when I shut it, that might be a personal thing but it just felt better. I got the free upgraded lock that's being run this month so maybe that's why?

Lastly my dealer was great, there are about 8 canopy dealers within a 2 hour drive from me and they took great of me. I went to all 3 (Leer, ARE, SnugTop) and never once was the SnugTop dealer pushy. They had tan, gray, silver, white and blue sitting on the shelf in short and long bed models and I've seen a couple around town running the Rebel so I felt confident in my choice!

Prices were all over the board on the caps and I got this one with fold down front window, upgraded lock, all the standard features and install for 1800.00. Not a "smoking" deal but the 100XR was north of that.

I just bought my third Taco (this one is identical to yours) and have put caps on them all. I wish SnugTop had dealers on the East coast. The nearest one to NH is in Missouri! I'm torn between Leer, ARE, Century, and Jeraco.
