Have any of you with painted stock rims had any problems after doing the job, i.e. paint chipping, or requiring constant touch up. Or is it a do it right once and its good to go.

    getting there....
i primered my wheels with self etching primer before i painted them......and the only spots that "chipped" are where they moved the weights around for balancing.

what kinda paint/prep did you do?

I got my rims static balanced- weights on the inner lip only to aviod problems with lip chipping. I haven't had an other chipping or bubbling. Some like trail marking and scrapes but that'll happen to any rim.

Use a good cleaner, prime and paint using the directions on the can/jar of paint, and let them cure. Keep them clean and you'll be good to go.
