I can't remember what years it works on but there's some random series of turning your key on and off and opening the driver door that can turn it off, maybe someone could post the link to the video up, it didn't work on my 13

In late model trucks like ours, I believe it requires Techstream software or removal of the noisemaker from behind the instrument cluster.

I've seen people use these before. Maybe not these exact ones but I'm sure with the concept you can find the right ones.

not the airbag connector... those are always wrapped in yellow (sometimes orange, I think) split loom and tape. There's a separate 2 wire connector next to it. If that still affects the airbag system, then that's news to me

can anybody chime in on this? because I was always under the impression that the plugs underneath all had an interclock with the ABS and/or airbag deployment

    Not enough...
I use one of these when I drive around with my dog (90% of the time). He likes to ride shotgun and sets off the seatbelt warning thing. So i just bought a set on eBay for like $2

IIRC, when I was replacing the factory cloth seat covers and putting the leather seat covers on (about 4 yrs ago, maybe longer) I noticed the three connectors you see below.

There's a black plug on the far left, with an orange wire that I believe is a seat positioning sensor. The grey on the right, I don't recall what it's for . The small black one in the middle (that's unplugged) I had traced the two black wires all the way to the seatbelt connector, and then I stuck my multimeter on the two leads... when the seatbelt was not connected, the loop was closed, and when I inserted the seatbelt, the loop opened. Unplug the connector and wherever those two small black wires go believes the seatbelt is fastened. Now whether or not those two wires feed into some computer that tells the airbag system anything, that I can't say.

I've got a friend who's a service tech at Toyota who dug into this for me at the time, and he did confirm that the two black wires were just for the seatbelt chime/dashlight, and that unplugging it shouldn't cause any issues elsewhere (he never uses "won't"... it's always "shouldn't", as if to leave him a small area of doubt lol)

Just curious, because I discounected the two black wires you are talking about @TurboGT but the passenger side seat has a lot more wires and does not have the two black wires to disconnect, do you possibly know what wires it is on the passenger side?

Hey guys I have a quick question. I got my 07 Tacoma tuned up very nicely and it has a ton of low end torque, but really loses high end. When I punch it at 60mph to pass someone it is very slow going. I haven't modded the tranny or diff yet so they are still stock. I can get up 0-60 in about 6-7 seconds and smoke the tires on any surface, but my 60-90mph time is about 20 seconds. 0-90 takes about 24 seconds total (I'm guessing because it doesn't have the downshift delay if I just punch it from 60)

Short of overhauling the tranny and diff with better gear ratios is there anything else cheaper that I can do first that won't take life away from the engine or trans?

Ask your dealer, they can disable the chime. You are still under warranty, they'll do it for free.

The dealership can hook up to the computer through the obdII port and click 3 buttons and disable the chime for you. It's very easy to do. You can even do it yourself if you have one of the more fancy obdII readers. I have ALL of my chimes disabled. The seatbelt, airbag, lock/unlock, gas light (which I sometimes regret).

Most dealerships don't charge for this service so you should be able to find one that does it for free. If not a little haggling goes a long way. When I worked at Toyota I didn't charge at all to do it because it was so quick and easy.
