Stereo solution for 2016 DoubleCab models w/out JBL...this $650 Alpine setup sounds really good.

Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
So I ordered a 6 speed manual Quicksand TRD Off-Road Taco (DoubleCab) and of course, as many of you know, you cannot order the JBL system with the manual. Fine. Not a huge issue, because to be honest with you, this $650 setup that uses your OEM Entune stereo sounds MUCH better. Trust me. I've heard both.

I added an Alpine powered "slim" subwoofer behind the driver's side rear seat (fits perfectly) which puts out the perfect amount of clear and crisp bass. In addition, I felt that the stock OEM speakers needed a little more power, so I added a 150 watt Alpine mini-amp to power the main OEM speakers. It sits in the dashboard so everything looks 100% factory, including you keep your OEM Toyota head unit (Entune). I had Horizon Audio in Canton, OH install it for a small fee. They do wonderful work, if I may say so. Now listen...this isn't going to shake windows in the neighborhood, but it definitely is a huge improvement over the stock Entune system.

I cannot tell you how happy I am with this sound. Deep lows and crisp highs...cannot beat it for the money invested. Pics are below of where the amp was installed and also the exact models of amp and sub I used. Hope this can help someone out there...

Does it vibrate or hit against the plastic being behind your seat?

Would the sub fit under the passenger front seat?

No vibrations whatsoever...and you can completely close the seat without interference.

Nope. They will not fit under the 2016 Tacoma seats.

Not sure. They did it for me and told me it's behind the dash.

There's no link. I just put the model #s of the components I used. You can just google the model numbers and there would plenty of information on them I'm sure...see the pics above.

Living on the Big Island of Hawaii, I didn't have a lot of choices....I did a lot of research and set my budget for $1200. I ended up with Digital Design 6.5 components, Kenwood 5 channel 50 RMS and a Kicker 10" sub(already in it's own enclosure) I watched the whole install and the owner Rob, was very careful and it came out great. He removed the back storage bin behind the passenger side for the sub and it fits perfectly. The DD components sound crisp and clear. The amp is under the driver's seat and it is all well hidden.
