Ideas for a custom shackle (d-ring)

A friend of mine is a machinist and has a CNC plasma machine at his house along with several other awesome pieces of equipment. We were throwing around ideas for a custom shackle (d-ring) for me. He thought brass knuckles would be cool and so do I but I'm afraid it would be too tacky looking.

Anyway, if you could have a custom shackle made what would you have made?
It doesn't even have to be functional, it could be for looks and swap it out with a real d-ring when needed.
