What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

IM trying to figure that out, too.

 

Mine had some slop in it so I replaced it. The parts house replacement was barely any better.

So Ima assUme that this will take out some of that slop.

 

Pull one of your pant legs down a bit. That'll help.

That is a 'summit series' tent. Not the same as what we have. Think Tepui ruggedized. Had to compete with the orange.

 

It takes the up and down slop out of the driveshaft that higher mileage manual transmission extended cabs develop. The up and down slop causes backlash or "play" in the drivetrain.

 

Not bad at all. The seat was a worn a bit.

If your bushing and seat were shot, of course it will make a significant difference.

 

Anybody know how to pull the ABS rotor (and the extra bearing retainer) when changing out the rear axle bearing? I need a hint

Better make sure that hood doesn't go flyin up without havin those hood pins strapped down

 

Lay a piece of hard wood on floor. Holding onto the hub slam the end of axle on the piece of wood. The weight of the whole assembly should slide everything off.

 

The closest thing I've found is a custom tool like this one. Maybe I can rig up something similar.

I saw another guy pull it off with a couple of aircraft cables but he first cut the retainer off with a cut-off tool. I was hoping to avoid that but I have enough parts to cut everything off if I have to.

 

Well I've got some news, not that anyone cares, I wouldn't. I think my new leaf springs are gonna be paid for sooner than I thought. This lawn mowing business is pay way better than I thought.

Hope the Alcan springs are worth the cash $$$.

Yup. If your truck weighs less than 5000lb because you don't have f+r bumpers, sliders, skids, rack, and rtt, you're not allowed in.
