Yeah, I ran it for about 10, then put a quart in, and I'll check the cold reading this morning.

Too bright IMO, if it was a darker green I could roll with it

Seems to be just as good as the old one.

So I was all set to put together a platform to sit across the back "seats" in my xtra cab to level off the area this weekend. My phone buzzed with a notification that someone posted in the local craigslist with Tacoma in it. I check it out. They were giving away their platform from their 00 xtracab since they sold their truck. Went out picked it up (hosed it off) and popped her in.

I dig it. Just need one more wood crate. [IMG]

I can't wrap my head around how this will work.

That rubber bushing is supposed to be flexible to keep vibrations from being transferred to the body. This is just going to make it worse.

Please report back after driving a while.

I understand what it is intended to do.

Unfortunately it is too soft and adds a lot of backlash or slop or play whatever you want to call it in the the driveshaft. This slop is most noticeable in stop and go driving with a manual transmission. I noticed it because I was used to the smoothness of my regular cab 1st gen (one piece driveshaft). If you have never noticed it in your extended cab great, you might just be used to it.

I drove it about 25 miles lastnight and noticed no increase in vibrations or noise only a decrease in "slop" in stop and go situations.

Replacing an idler pulley today because it won't spin anymore. Burned through a replacement AC belt in under 5min to realize why the first one failed.

Also, quoted for correct use of the word tartan:
