If its just the 5100 you should be able to get with the help of a pry bar. If not just unbolt the lbj.

In my case with heavy duty coils, i had to unbolt 4 lower bj bolts, disconnect the sway bar and tie rod end, then loosen the lca bolts. Even then I think I had to pry it down some. If you have lower spring rate coils it shouldn't take loosening the lca bolts

What does the coil matter. Strut doesn't get any longer. And ive never heard of anyone on here going through that much trouble getting a strut in before.

I was assuming he was talking about only getting the shock in using the method of using the weight of your truck as a compressor for the spring. In that case it does matter. I just noticed he did say struts... unless he meant just the shock. Then no it wouldn't matter

I just did it and I used a piece of 1 1/2" copper pipe about 4 ft. long and put the open end in the lower control arm cam bolt hex head as a fulcrum and worked very well... Was able to use one hand to push the pipe down and the other to slide the bolt in with ease...If you have a friend or wife to help it would even be easier...Im a plumber so the pipe was very accessable but any type of hard pipe will work, most likely 1" or larger... Hope this may help others...
