I had knobbies, but they wore out wicked fast. I'm running all the same trails and roads with the 50/50s with out issue. So much better on the road.

Edit: I still have a front d606, with 80% left on it. The rear only lasted about 1100 miles

The only reason I did that was it had a new knobbie on the front, so I bought a new knobbie for the rear. I didn't want to put a less aggressive tread on the rear because I'd rather the rear slide first. I figure they'll wear out evenly and will replace them with more of a 50/50 tread. That's what I always used to run on past dual sports with no issues.

I got my soft top on today. I used my winch and landed it on my (pallet wood) dolly.

Bagged two today; a yearling Jake around 5:30 and then what's probably a 2-year Tom around 11. Tagged out by Noon! Jake weighed a slightly embarrassing 12lbs flat, and the Tom weighed in at a more respectable 19lbs. My hunting buddy couldn't make it up again this weekend because he had to work a double shift today, but his dad came up instead and I swear the man lives to call in turkeys. He'd called in a trio of Jakes to within 10 yards this morning 20 minutes after we got set (one of whom became my first bird of the day), then a Tom who wouldn't get close enough for a shot, then two more Toms who got so busy fighting and spurring each other that they never even came near us  Then after breakfast (at 10:00, lol) he called in a pair of Toms & a Jake. The Jake ran right up but the Toms stopped about 40 yards off and refused to get any closer. So I took my pick of them, crossed my fingers and dropped my 2nd bird. We were all tagged out by noon because he wasn't interested in having me call any in for him. He doesn't shoot often, he just loves calling them in.

I'm not much for the posed 'Trophy Shots' but he did snap this candid one on our way back to the truck with the Tom and just now emailed it to me.

Also found a ?lucky? pellet when I was cleaning the bird out. Found it stuck against the breastbone, completely clean just like it is in the picture. I suppose maybe it's unlucky, since it didn't do anything useful, haha!

    Nice going!
All it takes is one "magic pellet".
I'm pretty much done for the season with nothing to show. Rough season weatherise, esp. when my "Turkey Week" vacation was crap weather 2 weeks ago.
We switched over to saltwater fishing today. Fluke, aka, summer Flounder showed up. We caught 6. 2 of them keepers about 3#s and 1 sea bass.

Mornin' all. We've officially given up the search for a hybrid. We saw a bunch over the last week and every one of them was water damaged and/or very poorly cared for. We're focused on self contained bunkhouse travel trailers now. We actually found a couple new ones that are in the 16-18' range that we really like.
