I hope that is some sick joke -_-...lol, I hope I did not come off as rude, I just have not found Denver traffic to be all that bad, I did come back from the mountains one Sunday evening in the snow and it was wild, I will admit that.

I wish I was joking. One of the reasons I left Denver. I love it there, but it's becoming ridiculously crowded and expensive (relative to what I make out there). I'm in the Bay Area now, and as an RN make more than double what I was making in Denver. Aside from the higher cost of rent/real estate up here, all my other bills are the same. Funny how I moved to one of the most expensive regions in the country and am better off financially here than anywhere else I've lived. I'll be out of student loan debt in 2 years here. In Denver it would have been more like 5 -6 years. The pay there sucks for nurses. That coupled with the massive influx of people in the last few years made it time to go. If I'm going to be in a place that's crowded and has traffic you better pay me! And yes, I-70 is a nightmare now on weekend evenings. I would never go snowboarding on the weekends. Guess that's the benefit of having days off during the week. I could be at A-Basin in an hour and 20 minutes, get first chair, ride until noon or so and be back home by 2pm during the week.

Just picked up my Tacoma DCSB M/T Sport in Canada very pleased with the drive, the manual transmission is like butter such a fun drive. Prior to deciding on the Tacoma we were considering a subaru crosstreck or outback however there can be head gasket issues around 100,00 km and there is apparently a class action law suit going on in USA for some oil consumption issues. In general I would recommend while you are doing your research on TW and making a list of the different pros and cons that have been posted on this site you might also want to make a list of what your needs are and compare them to other vehicles you maybe considering. I am very happy with the decision to get a tacoma and even though it's early days no issues have cropped up yet, with highway driving or short trips. All the best with your decision.

Isn't the head gasket issue old news and for older Subarus? They fixed that issue years ago. Happened to a friend of mine, around 80k he needed new head gaskets, but his was like a 2003 or 2004. I owned a 2006 Forester and 2012 Outback and never had any issues whatsoever with either of them.

It's still around. My buddy's '11 impreza outback sport is about to need head gaskets at 83k. He bought it new, and has been extremely anal about repairs (boeing mechanic). He said he's trading it in on a 4runner.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. Those cars are all over Colorado. It's pretty impressive actually.

Guess I got two good Subarus, which is probably why I got a fucked up Tacoma (shitty auto trans). Guess it was my turn to get screwed.

When we were researching the subarus apparently through one of our resources the automobile protection agency (APA)which is a not for profit organization in Canada indicated that the head gasket issues are still ongoing as well as the oil consumption issues.

I drove a 96 Outback in college. Those 2.5's had head gasket issues left and right. Mine finally blew up with maybe 120,000 miles on it. Loved the Subaru otherwise though. I lived in Laramie, Wyoming in college. It's 7200 ft above sea level and very windy so that mean the roads were icy a good portion of the year. The AWD + low center of gravity (with some help from the boxer engine) made them the ideal car for that environment. I wouldn't dare take my Tacoma on some of those turns I took my Subaru on when it was icy. My Tacoma would end up on it's side!
