Another thing, what exactly is the function of the door trigger? As far as i understand, the lock and unlock should be wired to the control unit, that should suffice, No?
Thanks for your help with this.

Grey wire and keyless entry. I like stock.
I read this thread and decided to find the exact one you used in the write-up. Scored it for fifteen bucks on ebay. Plan to install next weekend. Excited to have keyless entry.

It's not a green plug, but a green wire. I had some trouble here. It's nestled between two plugs. A mirror will help in locating the wire. Do refer to the number of wires in the correct plug because it is different than another that also has a green wire. Admittedly time is fogging details for me, referring to the schematic, the green wire ties into the parking lights and door lock controls. See schematic top left as shown.

In reference to the door trigger, I believe it is for alarms.

Okay just installed it. Again, I installed the exact same one the OP did. If you get lost or need help feel free to ask what wire goes where.

    My helpful offerings:

When you try to find the plug on the back of the fuse panel, it was damn near impossible to do the way the OP did for me. I pulled the two bolts that hold the panel to the dash and played the panel face down AFTER pulled the top plug on the back that is a single wire. You'll understand when you get there. After laying the panel down, the plug you're looking for is the first plug in after the bottom plugs and side edge plugs on its right. Its almost in the center of all the plugs back there slightly to the right. Has a lot of wires coming from it and you want green.

I installed mine at the bottom behind the kickpanel. I used the same hole that held the bracket for the kickpanel and also the same hole that I used for my grey wire mod and the ground for the keyless unit too. I know you can hook the horn wire up but holy crap the wire harness going to the steering wheel is tight. I couldn't get the wires to unravel enough to find it in the loom.

Make sure to mount the wiring for the keyless unit in suck a way that it is accessible in case you need to change one of those fuses. I wrapped electrical tape around the loom of wires just before the first fuse and right after the second so they sort of stick out. All is easily tucked behind the kickpanel too. I ran the antenna up to right behind the fuse panel cover and taped it in place.

I'll get the schematic I used to attached wires tomorrow morning. It'll show you what color wire goes with what other color wire. Dummy proof. I am a dummy and tried first to install it without drawing it out first and was solo very confused when I pulled the lower dash. You forget how much wiring is back there and it all looks the same.

Thanks for adding the suggestions. Loosening the panel is a good suggestion. The green wire was one of the most frustrating aspects in an otherwise easy install.

I'm going to be installing a basic code alarm keyless entry system.

Which wires run from the unit into the trucks lock (gray) and unlock (purple)? When there are three selections for lock/unlock (see attached) which one do I choose? Switch, motor, or polarity?

I'll preface this with, it's been few years since I did this, but I just reviewed the instructions.

If you look at page 4 of the Audiovox instructions under "3 Wire Ground Switched Signal Step Door Locks " it states the connection is made to the wires between the Switch and Relay. My thought is it connects to the switch since you're basically adding a switch through the alarm. Lock/Unlock Switch

I would use the violet and violet /black. Toyotas use a negative pulse, when you find the wires for the door locks at the relay (easiest way to locate the relay is just lock/unlock the doors to hear the relay clicking) and touch one of the wires to ground, it will either lock or unlock.

I got the AA925, used OP's instructions, green wire is a bitch.Mine is a 2001 with factory power door locks, white, yellow, red were the only wires from the module I
needed + the lock/unlock 2 leads. I only wanted the signal lite flasher & door locks.

    Thread Resurrection!

Hi all first post...just wanted to thank the OP for the informative post. I scored the AA925 for $10 off of eBay, finished installing earlier today. My 2001 PreRunner feels modern now! That parking light wire is a complete bitch to get to...At first I spliced into the LH Turn indicator wire which is on a different connector (the very lowest to the right if looking at the panel from the front) but re-did it after using a small mirror to see the correct wire. Works like a charm now, actually wasn't that bad to install, althought it was a little intimidating for my first time messing with automotive wiring.

    Thanks again!
