buying my first Tacoma...

Hi there,
I'm a new member looking to buy my first Tacoma. I'm going to see a truck tomorrow and while I know most of the basics I'm wondering if you guys can give me tips on what to ask based on the post below:


2001 tacoma clean title 4cyl 4x4 5sp.
Rebuilt engine last year runs good nothing wrong
New Cat.. New O2 sensor.. New Clutch when the engine was rebuilt. All new belts
3 inch lift.. front 3 in eibach spring rear 2in. Added leaf.. rear
with bilstein 5100 all around
Title in hands serious buyer only sorry no trade... no paypal... no posting on other site cash only ..
Asking 8500 obo

* I asked how many miles were on the truck and the owner said 200,000 but only 10,000 on the new motor.

frame rust

 

Frame is on the top of the list to check. 1st Gen's had some frame rust issues. There was a recall and buy back. Just make sure the frame is in good standing.

 

when my brother was looking for one I noticed a few had a engine tick

not sure what it was

didn't bother with them
