What's up guys! So today I came up on a FREE 1997 Burton Custom 64, Super Fly Wood Core.

    http://www.burtonvault.com/search.p...stom&size=&modifier=&color_tag=&graphics_tag=

(Last one shown at the bottom of page, Dark blue-ish mountain with orange haze design)

It was given to me by a middle-aged coworker of mine who probably hasn't ridden it in ages. It looks like it's in pretty good shape, though. I'm still relatively new to snowboarding so my question to you guys is do you suggest taking it in for a 'sanity' tune-up. You know, just to make sure I'm good to go for this weekend. Oh yea, forgot to mention I'm going up to Big Bear this weekend.

    Thanks in advance!

Nice! Can't beat the price haha. I would definitely recommend you take it in to a snowboard shop when you get to big bear to have it tuned up. I recommend blauers or Leroy's boardshops. Have them give it a wax and have the edges tuned. Not sure if the bindings your using are as old as the board but I would double check them too to make sure all the straps and ratchets are working right.

The 2015/2016 Ski season has been incredible! 21 days and counting. I put around 8500km on the truck since November and I only drive it on weekends. 4600km of that is in the last 6 weeks. Woooo!

Castle mountain in Southern Alberta. Definitely one of my top 3 favourite hills. The lifts are slow but the terrain is incredible and you cant beat it on a powder day.

Thanks! I live in Calgary Alberta. I ski most of the resorts within a few hours drive in AB and BC. Lake Louise, Castle, Fernie, Revelstoke, Kickinghorse. Got out to Red mountain a few weeks back. Its incredible. Lots of guys there coming up from Washington.
Its awesome having a wife that shares my passion for the outdoors. She rips pretty good too!
    Thanks Man!

Dude! That looks Brutal! Aha! I lived in Eastern Canada and I can remember what it was like to have no snow. At least you are trying.

    Just found this thread.
It's been a great season, got in about 32 days, not bad considering I spent part of my season moving from Arizona to Colorado and about a month injured.
Been snowboarding since 2012, and totally addicted. Looks like most of my life choices over the last few years have been dictated by this new disease ;)

Bought myself a Subaru Forester Xt in 2013, it's been an awesome ski car (that's primarily what I bought it for), however I seem to have outgrown it a little.
I'm presently in the process of doing my research before I actually go ahead and buy my Taco. I'm looking at December/January time-frame to make the dive. I need it ready to go by mid February for a big trip.

I'm looking at the TRD Sport DCLB. I would probably put a cap on it, a light bar and the PrInSu Design Studio Roof Racks. I was wondering if there were any options, upgrades any of you avid skiers/snowboarders think might be worthwhile as well.
    Thanks in advance.
PS: I know this is a gear specific thread but I didn't see any other threads dedicated to ski trip specific builds.

Reasoning for DCLB: be able to carry at least 4 people and gear on long trips (the one planned for Next Feb is 23 days long)

Wow. It is almost that time again, isn't it. I forgot what snow feels like.
Hoping for a better east coast winter than last.

I would have to say a shell would be an excellent addition to the truck for winter. Gear not buried in snow, can be used as a sleeping area.

Yes it's almost that time, can't wait for the season to start!!!

yup, Sleeping in the shell was part of the reasoning since I'm about 6'2".
Any recommendations on shell type, make, features etc.
I was thinking at the very least I would get one with a folding and sliding center window (for easy cleaning etc), upholstered interior for insulation (sound and weather), duel Led light strips.
I haven't quite figured out which window options to go for the side yet, but am open to suggestions for our particular use case.

I have an ARE V-series on my short bed. I love it. It has vented windoors (greatest invention), fold down sliding front window, Yakima roof tracks, light strip down the ceiling center.
I think going with the long bed option would be a good idea for your height.

I took some ideas from this guys build.
    Good stuff there.

Check out some of the expedition builds too. Lots of talented and helpful people on TW. Don't be afraid to ask away.
And get into a CO regional thread to connect with people around you. I am sure there are lots of like-minded individuals there.
