Well I have had my audio gear sitting in the closet for almost a year thinking I would get around to installing it. I took the plunge and had a local audio shop do the install and I am glad that I did since it took a full day with three guys installing my gear. The final result is great and I could not be happier.

Here is a list of my gear installed in my 08 DC 4X4:

    Head unit: Eclipse CD7200MkII
    Amp: JL Audio HD900/5
    Front speakers: HAT Clarus C61-2
Rear speakers: HAT Clarus C5-2 (mids only for rear fill)
    Sub: JL Audio 13TW5
    iPod interface: Eclipse iPC-106
    Sirius: Eclipse ECL-SC1
Sub enclosure and amp board made by Mr. Marv and mounted behind the rear seat.
Dynamat extreme was used on all four doors and the rear wall.

Mr Marv makes great products and the local shop was impressed with his quality and workmanship. I am extremely happy with the sound of the HAT speakers. I like them so much I just ordered another set (Clarus C61-2) for my other vehicle that has Boston Acoustic Pro 60's installed.

    Nice!

How is the screen on the MKII when it's sunny outside? I'd looked at that unit as well because it's perfect in every other way but I was told that the screen was tough to read.

I'll be putting in my JL 900/5 soon as well :)

No problem with seeing the screen when it is sunny outside but the writing on the screen is small. If I could find one fault with the head unit it would be the small writing on screen with the gray / black background and white writing. It does not help that I have to wear reading glasses but my wife can see the screen just fine. I just feel that Eclipse could have done a better job with the screen of the head unit. My other vehicle has a Pioneer Premiere DEH-P940MP head unit and I prefer that screen but with direct sunlight it is hard to read.

The real surprise was the JL Audio HD900/5, I had a DLS A4 and a Zapco REF 500.1 that I was going to install in the Tacoma but the space that both amps take up was large. I spoke with Mr Marv and he had nothing but great things to say about the HD900/5. The stereo shop I used sells Audison and Hertz amps and does not carry JL Audio and they were pushing me to go with an Audison amp since my goal was sound quality. Long story short the lead installer was impressed with the power and clean sound of the HD900/5 along with the bass that the JL sub produced.

No issues with the MKII working with the dash kit? I bought one and it wouldn't let the face open completely to eject discs.

They had to adjust the head unit about 1/8th off an inch outward to get the faceplate to open completely.
