So I purchased my truck used. From a guy out in a rural area of my state. And when I changed the oil I had to put my wrench insisde a pipe to get the oil drain plug out.
About a week after the oil change and filter change ,I noticed oil drips on the pavement of my buddy's driveway. After some investigation we discovered a leak that is directly under the filter.

The filter is the right size and the oil is the right viscosity. I have tried tightening the filter ect.

What are some thkngs I can try to fix my truck?

Did you make sure that the old filter didn't leave the gasket in place?
Are you sure it is the filter that is leaking?

Are you sure the rubber seal came off with the old filter? If that seal was stuck to the block and you screwed a new filter on, it will leak. That's the first thing I'd check. I've seen it happen many times.

My advice is NEVER use a wrench to install an oil filter. Lube the gasket, install until gasket contacts the block, add 1/2 to 2/3 turn. Also means next time no wrench is required to remove it.

I didn't think to check for the old gasket. I know my truck can take two kinds of filters for some strange reason. So I'll go for the one that was on the truck before I changed the oil
