2012 Radio Goes Blank????

When I put my lights on while driving my display on the radio goes blank and the lights in the dash are off. Anyone else get this problem? If I turn the lights off the display comes back and the radio never loses power cause tunes are still working.

 

Check the dimmer switch for inner lights my wife had it turned all the way down and told me about it and before i killed her i checked that.

 

yea, dimmer switch may be all the way down. figured that out yesterday morning.

Dimmer is good. The radio screen going blank only when the lights are on is weird

I thought there was a menu someone said that existed for night dimming.. Read your owners manual it might contain the answer. If not, back to the dealer!

I too have this problem. We have a 2013 Tacoma and just last week the display on the radio LCD goes black when we turn on the lights. We checked the dimmer switch - that's not it. We checked any lighting on the LCD settings - and cannot find anything that would control the LCD panel. Of course, the damned truck is out of warranty, just recently. Anyone else have this issues and can shed some light on what is going on and if we can fix this without the thousands of dollars shoved back into Toyota dealerships pockets?

 

Do you lose your dash lights also?

 

According to Toyota, mine ended up being a faulty dimming switch. They replaced it at service center.

 

We took it by the Toyota dealership. We had to replace the battery last week - the whole thing had to be reset. That was the problem.
