OP, you know you can use other sizes up front right? You'll need an adapter (homemade or bought), but it expands your options a good bit. 6x9 gives you the most surface area, but you exclude an awful lot of good 6-7" speakers that way.

I'm obviously biased but I've always loved Image Dynamics gear. For the price they sound amazing. I have the CTX65cs pair in my truck.

Another company with a somewhat recent management shakeup. I'm not convinced that it has suffered the same ill effects of most of the others though. Yet.

I have an IDQ 10" still bumping from 2002. Recent purchases include the MQ150.2 amp and the CTX65cs speaker system all of which seem to be of high quality.

If memory serves me correctly its a IDQd4 v.4 10". I'm itching to upgrade to the IDMAX 10" but would need to modify my sub box for the extra mounting depth requirements.

Sure, I've never heard anything bad about ID stuff. I'd use any of the stuff designed when Matt & Eric were still around...just not sure about their new designs. Those guys started a new company, but I don't know where you can buy any of it. I think Eric did some recent design work for Cadence as well.
