2012 Tacoma 4x4 Quadcab 4.0 shortbed

Need some counsel please! I have a 2012 Quadcab 4x4, 4.0L, shortbed with 44K miles and want to tow a trailer. Hauling capacity from Toyota is 3,500 #s (info from Toyota). I'm told I should add a transmission cooler and Toyota doesn't offer one. Any counsel or suggestions please?
